February 14th..be there!

Okay, YOU don't have to 'be there', but I will! Yeah, I'm going to sign up for this race tomorrow; why not? No, I haven't run 5 miles before, but that doesn't mean that I CAN'T- I just have never attempted it before, is all. So sign up, I will, and aside from all of the obvious benefits of running five miles, maybe the best will be a rare Sunday off for me!

Like It or Hate It,,,,,

I tell you,
I Love You
Is it to let,
You know
Or convince
Myself
That it’s all the same
The sugar-coated pain
Is hard,
To deny.
‘cause would you
Even ,
miss me?
If I wasn’t,
Around?
Used to think,
I knew
The answer
But your eyes,
No longer,
Convincing
And I just,
Can’t shake
The deep down pull
That leaves,
Me
Cold
And I just,
Want you back.

Today's C25K Workout

Brisk five-minute warmup walk, then:
  • Jog 1/4 mile (or 3 minutes)
  • Walk 1/8 mile (or 90 seconds)
  • Jog 1/2 mile (or 5 minutes)
  • Walk 1/4 mile (or 2-1/2 minutes)
  • Jog 1/4 mile (or 3 minutes)
  • Walk 1/8 mile (or 90 seconds)
  • Jog 1/2 mile (or 5 minutes)
Sooo proud of myself! I just need to remember to breathe; still finding myself holding my breathe, but by the middle of my first five minute run, I concentrated on it more, and got it down.
Especially psyched for my 5K on Saturday; get to where the above shirt in honor of my friend's Mom who passed away from cancer. She was quite a gal, and believe me, it is truly an honor to proudly' wear ' her name, and I plan to wear this shirt for every race 'til I wear it out!

"There's no one there I really wanted to talk to".....

Jim Croce- Operator

Operator, oh could you help me place this call
You see the number on the matchbook is old and faded
She's livin' in L.A.
With my best old ex-friend Ray
A guy she said she knew well and sometimes hated

Isn't that the way they say it goes
But let's forget all that
And give me the number if you can find it
So I can call just to tell them I'm fine and to show
I've overcome the blow
I've learned to take it well
I only wish my words could just convince myself
***That it just wasn't real***
But that's not the way it feels

Operator, oh could you help me place this call
'Cause I can't read the number that you just gave me
There's something in my eye's
You know it happens every time
I think about the love that I thought would save me

Isn't that the way they say it goes
But let's forget all that
And give me the number if you can find it
So I can call just to tell them I'm fine and to show
I've overcome the blow
I've learned to take it well
I only wish my words could just convince myself
That it just wasn't real
But that's not the way it feels

No no no no
Thats not the way it feels
Operator oh let's forget about this call
There's no one there I really wanted to talk to
Thank you for your time
Oh you've been so much more than kind
And you can keep the dime

Isn't that the way they say it goes
But let's forget all that
And give me the number if you can find it
So I can call just to tell them I'm fine and to show
I've overcome the blow
I've learned to take it well
I only wish my words could just convince myself
That it just wasn't real
But that's not the way it feels

Frustrated

on too many levels to count...

Uhhh..Yeah's

~ how ...laughable to name your band 'Whitesnake' after your supposedly supersized dick?? When will some of you guys learn, it's not so much how big or long your thing is, it's what you can do with it. *sheesh*
~ my extreme opposition of anything Barry Obama has nothing, I repeat, nothing to do with his race. Do you understand that?? I despise him because he is an unworthy, unqualified communist. Stop using the race card, damnit, and stop insulting my intelligence.
~ remember when radio stations would bleep out the 'pain in the ass' line from Blondie's Heart of Glass, and when Steve Miller sang 'funky shit' from Big Ole Jetairliner?

AHHHH.....

* A six-pack of Shipyard Pumpkinhead Ale- $8.99
* a pair of uber-comfortable really bitchin'Nike running shoes from Kohl's that just propelled me on a satisfying walk/run- $38.99 on sale.
* having nothing but the sound of the banjo clock to serenade me in the silence of my house which is temporarily devoid of offspring- $priceless$.

Separated at birth??
I think not.

I'm not looking for any donations...

for this one..... http://www.kaylasbeatgoeson.org/kb/participants/participantpage.asp?fundid=226&uid=360&role=5

just proudly announcing that I will be participating in this one on the 17th, and while I, of course, plan on walking the 3.5 miles, (seeing as it is a walk, duh) I also plan to run as much of it that I can, as well. While this is not my first 5k( I did the Brockton Hospital Champions Cancer Walk in 2001) this is my first serious 5K. I am training to hopefully be able to run a 5K in about 4 months, so this is like a.....warm up, if you will, for me. And it won't be last last or only. I am keeping it as local as possible from now on, and am really psyched for this, and for the progress I am continuing to make.
Yay me!! *prodigiously patting meself on the back*
