It's,
crazy
busy
and the blood pressure,
rises
to pinnacles, dangerously high
as
the rushing
and the pushing
of the people
in the lines
at the store
and at
the post
and
everywhere
can drive you
mad
and the lights
in the traffic
turn too slowly
to freedom green
and you find
yourself
cursing
and mumbling,
not too softly
neath your breath
that hangs
precarious
in the cold
and wraps like wool,
heavy
in the
manufactured heat.
And how on earth,
will you get
it all done?
the buying
and the
wrapping
and the
cooking
and the
cleaning
and the
baking
and the
readying
of one and
everyone.....
and then
it's twilight
on the Eve
of the
enlightening,
Day
and you realise
that your breathing
has calmed
and your
worries
are now,
next to none
and all
the world
in your vision, clear
is at peace
and really,
the past month
wasn't
all ,
that bad after all
now was it?
(Yes, it
was
but now
with the lights and the scent,
faint
of balsam in my mind
and in
my eyes
and all through me,
it's all
so very,
alright.)
Merry Christmas
and
Goodnight.

For the record...

~ I love Vivaldi. Also love Tchaikovsky(sp?). Been listening to Christmas classics in the car enroute to and from work, and the music is so beautiful. Best listened to at the beginnning of the day, though; the music is entirely too soothing and sleep inducing at days end(makes for potentially dangerous driving conditions!)
~ I am wearing black...and silver to my company Christmas party tomorrow.Living on the edge, am I.
~ Tinsel on a Christmas tree is NOT corny, nor old fashioned. In fact, it plays off of the tree lights quite nicely. So there.
~ I haven't been inspired to write anything (poetry wise) as of late, but finally got a theme running through my head today. Keep digits crossed that it comes to fruition? I don't like these dry spells.
~ I would be lost without my good friends, of the related and non-related type.
~ I will unabashedly laugh out loud and smile while listening to a good voicemail message, no matter where I am, nor whom I am with.

Howdy!!

It's only... 18 days till Christmas- YAY!!! Presents are bought, the tree will be bought today, and there is snow on the ground!! Don't get much better'n that!

The Whitman Winterfest was such a good time! It'a always cool to be able to walk through the middle of the streets and not worry about becoming roadkill, and with the snow falling, the horse drawn wagon leisurely winding it's way through the town park, the trolley wending it's way through the center of town, and the people just plain enjoying themselves, it was a great time.Hats off to Richard Rosen, and all that contribute their time, imaginations, and funding for this annual event; it is GREATLY appreciated!!

Time's up at the library, so I am off. Don't necessarily be good, but do be safe, ok?
Till next time!!
